TIP NINE: Promote, Promote, Promote!

Publishing your video is a great first step in garnering more attention for your nonprofit, but the work doesn’t stop there. If you don’t promote it, who will know it’s there?

At Purple Duck Marketing, we recommend that you include a link to your videos (either on your website, YouTube channel, or Facebook page) in everything you do.

Here’s a few ways to do just that:

Social Media – Push it out on an ongoing basis with catchy content and “Calls to Action” through:
  • Facebook posts
  • LinkedIn Updates
  • Twitter tweets
  • Blog postings
Print – Include a link with a Call to Action on your:
  • Brochure
  • Newsletter
  • Stationary
  • Business Card
  • Annual Report
  • Annual Appeal
  • Direct Mail pieces

Electronic – Include a clickable link with a Call to Action on your
  • Email campaigns
  • E-newsletter
  • Email signature
Internet – Be part of other conversations and add a link
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Relevant Blogs
  • Relevant article postings

FYI: Within the first 48-hours of posting your video on YouTube, you have an opportunity to receive “honors” and be featured on their site. To do this, make a plan to promote your video through as many communication tools as possible within that period of time to drive the maximum amount of traffic possible to your video. Being featured means exposure to a target audience you may not otherwise have a chance to reach. Think viral!!!
